Breaking boundaries in relationships can be beneficial, but it’s crucial to recognize when to stop.
High-performance luxury automakers continue their efforts to defy nature, breaking records at speeds over 250 mph without breaking a sweat. Here are some of the finest examples.
1. Koenigsegg One:1
Koenigsegg One:1 has just given further proof to the world that it’s an amazing supercar by setting two more speed records. This Swedish-built monster can accelerate like a Saturn V rocket and generate two grams of cornering force at 160 mph; additionally, stopping from 62 mph requires just 92 feet to come to a complete stop!
All thanks to its unrivalled power-to-weight ratio of one megawatt per kilogram curb weight. It fits seamlessly onto an Agera platform, with rear wheels powered by twin electric motors.
In order to meet this objective, the company engaged in a tireless search for weight savings by cutting, carving and molding materials as well as trimming every possible ounce off its carbon fiber exterior. Even its engine block and exhaust are made of titanium for reduced weight; an automatic lift feature lowers its front splitter when approaching road bumps – these efforts led to a total weight of only 3163 pounds! Furthermore, an upward opening hood allows more room when entering and exiting while an automatic lower splitter feature lowers when approaching road bumps for easier entry/exit.
2. Koenigsegg 2020 Jesko
Swedish hypercar maker Koenigsegg is known for creating unimaginably fast cars, pushing our imagination of what’s possible. Their Jesko model stands out as being capable of hitting 300 miles per hour with just half throttle!
The Jesko is powered by a 5.0-liter twin turbocharged V-8 that produces 1280 horsepower on pump gas and 1600 on E85 fuel. This engine boasts the world’s lightest crankshaft at 28 pounds made from one solid-steel billet.
The car was named in honor of Christian von Koenigsegg’s father, Jesko. Only 125 vehicles will be made available starting at $3 million each and its cavernous gills and sinewy haunches make for a fearless design, while inside you’ll find leather, suede, polished aluminum and carbon fiber cabin materials along with an enormous digital display featuring SmartCenter technology integrating vehicle comfort and control systems.
3. Bugatti Chiron
The Bugatti Chiron is not only one of the fastest cars on Earth; it may well be considered the most beautiful. Sculpted for pure aesthetic pleasure and equipped with an engine offering both power and efficiency, this masterpiece stands as testament to Bugatti craftsmanship.
The Chiron’s handling is excellent. While more of a luxurious GT than track-ready racecar like its Pur Sport and Divo counterparts, it can still handle itself at top speed with relative ease.
As opposed to most modern supercars, the Bugatti lacks driver assistance features – which is unfortunate given that its driving modes and lift system that lowers ride height for speed bumps and steep driveways could provide hours of entertainment!
Buyers of new Bugatti vehicles have the ability to further personalize them through Sur Mesure, an optional program which enables them to select from an assortment of special paint jobs, exterior trim, interior embellishments, racing stripes and logos at their discretion.
4. Bentley Flying Spur
The Flying Spur may be Bentley’s limousine, but it is just as happy being driven as any other vehicle. The body stays impressively upright even when forced through corners hard, and its massive iron brakes (the largest ever fitted to a production car) do a fantastic job of controlling speed.
The base model’s 6.0-litre W12 engine propels this two-tonne saloon to 60mph in under four seconds. A more economical V8 and plug-in hybrid version are soon joining its ranks, too.
Inside, the Flying Spur’s cabin lives up to Bentley’s reputation with luxurious materials such as sumptuous leather and genuine wood trim that can be specified. A rear touchscreen controller enables backseat passengers to control various vehicle functions without asking the driver. If budget allows, an even faster variant with 600hp and 207mph top speed can also be purchased; Jordan Golson reviewed his video review here.
