Hyundai unveils their most affordable EV ever, the INSTER EV. Based on its CASPER gas model sold in Korea, this cute boxy EV features sliding rear seats to increase cargo capacity from 238 to 351 litres.
Powertrain
Hyundai INSTER is an affordable electric city car modeled on South Korea’s CASPER model and designed as one of the more cost-effective EVs available today.
That may mean the INSTER won’t be as fast or fuel efficient than more costly competitors, but it remains an excellent way to reduce carbon emissions simply and easily. Plus it’s great fun to drive with just enough body lean on corners but feeling well balanced overall!
The INSTER is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems such as surround view monitor, parking collision-avoidance assist rear, and blind spot view monitor for added driver assistance. Furthermore, supported stations allow drivers to fast charge from 10 percent up to 80 percent in under 30 minutes – perfect for charging up on-the-go!
Range
Hyundai Inster is a subcompact electric SUV manufactured in South Korea. Based on the Korea-only Casper, this quirky-looking little thing features LED daytime running lights with signature and pixel graphics turn signals, along with Ioniq 5-style lights at its back end.
It boasts an EV floor with flexible fold flat seats for ultimate versatility, making it the most versatile car in its class. Furthermore, it boasts an industry-leading driving range of up to 355 km on one charge — quite an impressive feat for such a compact EV!
Its 11kW AC onboard charger reportedly facilitates a four-hour empty-to-full recharge time, and rapid charging using CCS or CHAdeMO connections is also supported. In terms of advanced driver assistance system technology, the vehicle features Surround View Monitor, Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist Rear, Lane Keeping Assist and Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go features as well as High Beam Assist and Driver Attention Warning for added convenience – not forgetting its 64-color ambient lighting!
Technology
INSTER is designed to be the ultimate urban car, offering eco-friendly flexibility and agile driving dynamics in its compact body. Boasting an estimated driving range of 355 km and fast charging capability of 10-80% in around 30 minutes – INSTER delivers an enjoyable driving experience without worry or stress.
It also boasts the latest safety and driver assistance technologies, such as smart cruise control, Highway Driving Assist 1.5 and an innovative collision avoidance assist system that automatically steers into a safe space if its driver fails to respond in time.
Although the basic model features a fairly plain black-and-grey interior, higher trim levels boast more premium touches such as houndstooth cloth seats and an illuminated open tray behind the steering wheel. The cabin is attractively styled, while i-Pedal one-pedal driving mode really adds joyous fun.
Pricing
Hyundai’s Inster is sure to appeal to a wider variety of buyers due to its affordable price point – pricing has yet to be released but we expect it to start under $26,000.
With its stylish SUV design that includes flush surfaces, pixel lighting, and bold skid plate – INSTER shows its personality in spades. Customers can further personalize their INSTER by customizing it with features such as LED projection headlamps, dual zone climate control settings, 64 color ambient lighting options, one touch sunroof access or LED projection headlamps – making their INSTER truly their own vehicle!
Size-wise, INSTER is situated between traditional A-segment subcompact city cars and larger B-segment compact models like the Dacia Spring or Renault 5. Boot space starts off modest at 238 litres but this can increase to 351 with folding down 50/50 rear seats flattened – there’s even a dedicated storage compartment in the centre console dedicated solely for charging cables! Additionally, INSTER offers advanced e-mobility technology such as advanced driver assistance features with its 42kWh standard battery or 49kWh long-range model capable of up to 229 miles of range!
